CUMBA
Alumni Association Mentorship Programme
2002-2003
2002-2003 Mentorship Programme
Our first Mentorship Programme for full-time MBA students has
been in place since November 1999. We received great support
from the department, our fellow alumni mentors, and current
students -- the mentees. Looking ahead, we hope to build on
the successes of the past years and sustain this rewarding tradition.
However, the success of the programme will largely hinge upon
your continued support as mentors.
For the next term starting from November
2002 to December 2003, we would like to invite you again
to join us to be our mentors for our full time 2-year students.
Should you have the interest or any query, please complete and
submit the Enrollment Form below or contact Ms. Vera So of the
MBA Town Centre at vera-so@cuhk.edu.hk
for more information.
Give the gift of CUMBA spirit. Share your experience with our
future alumni!
History of CUMBA Mentorship Program
Supported and Orchestrated by the CUMBA
Alumni Association, the Mentorship Program for CUMBA students
has officially launched in November, 1999. The key objective
of the program is to provide opportunity for students, particularly
full time students to get to know "Big brothers and sisters",
to learn from their wisdom and experience, both personally and
professionally.
CUMBA has the biggest pool of MBA alumni in Hong Kong. Collectively,
alumni can offer extensive advice, suggestion, and experience
sharing with fellow students. The mentorship program meant to
be the bridge for building rapport between students and alumni
and it would become an alternative means for learning about
real business world and personal development.
We are pleased to have more than 40 enthusiastic alumni who
contribute their precious time to be mentors and take initiative
to mentor either 1 or 2 students. The program is well received
and highly supported by the faculty and eventually over 50 2-year
full time students enrolled and they have already started the
mentoring activities. An inauguration ceremony was held on November
19, 1999 and that was indeed a highly remarkable event. All
participants take it in an informal, but serious manner in order
to achieve the objectives for learning and communicating, dedicated
plans have been set and activities will be organized to ensure
that objectives are met.
It is the first time such program being set up for CUMBA students,
we call for more alumni to support the program so that we can
expand our coverage in the future. Should you have an interest
to be our potential mentors, please feel free to contact MBA
faculty Vera So at the e-mail address: vera-so@cuhk.edu.hk
at any time.
